Sculpture of Man Playing the Saxophone

About This Work

A small statuette of a seated figure of a man playing the saxophone, made by my father Nikola Lichkov. The sculpture is realistic and is made lightly, freely and expressively. The man is wearing a hat and is leaning back in his chair in a relaxed pose. The musician plays and thinks of nothing but his art. The sculpture has a textured surface that gives it an impressionistic feel, and the dark patina finish adds warmth and tenderness to the work.

The sculpture has a quiet, contemplative mood, almost like a snapshot of someone pausing for a moment of reflection. The simple form and slightly abstract treatment make it feel like a generalized image of a musician, rather than a portrait of a specific person. If you are interested in this sculpture or have any questions, write to me. I will answer you quickly and comprehensively.
